Live Strong and Come Clean

The Times published an article tonight quoting two of Lance Armstrong’s former teammates admitting they used performance-enhancing drugs during their stints as domestiques for Lance. With the debacle of this year’s Tour and Landis (another of Lance’s ex-teammates) more than likely being stripped of the maillot jaune in the next week or so, it’s time more cyclists come clean and admit to using the dope.

The reputation of the sport is already soiled enough. If leaders and teams in the sport came clean now and set up a reasonable system for preventing future doping, people might actually start caring again about who gave it their all to pull themselves up those mountains instead of simply wondering who has the best drug cocktail this year.
